Work Orders are required when you need MasonHub to assemble or build inventory for pre-kitted items. Note: Dynamic kits do not require Work Orders. Review this article to learn more about setting up kits & bundles.
To complete a Work Order you need to create a new order to build the kits, then upload a corresponding inbound shipment (ASN) to receive the assembled inventory against.
Create Work Order
- Navigate to Orders > Create Orders.
- Fill out the required information and Submit:
Unique Order Number |
Recommended: Format your order number as WO-[KITTED SKU NAME]-DATE for ease of reference and searchability. For example, "WO-PB-bundle-12.10" Use the same identifier that you will use when creating the corresponding ASN. |
Order Type | Select Work Order. |
Notes | Recommended: Add details explaining your work order request. |
Shipping Address details | Recommended: Include a valid State and Country, but write DO NOT SHIP for the street address. |
Shipping Provider Information | Select Will Call. |
Back Order Policy | If you're preparing work orders before we have inventory, set this to Back Order if Out of Stock, so the work order will be placed on backorder. We'll process the work order as soon as inventory is received. |
Line Items |
Add the SKU and quantity for the component items that will be kitted together. For example, you have a small bottle bundle (PB-S-bundle) which includes 1 bottle-small SKU and 1 protector-small SKU. You are submitting this work order to pre-kit an additional 100 bundles (PB-S-bundle). On the order form you would add the following line items: 100 bottle-small and 100 protector-small. |
Create Inbound Shipment (ASN)
After you've created the Work Order to assemble the component SKUs, you need to upload an ASN for MasonHub to receive the newly assembled inventory against.
- Navigate to ASNs > Upload ASN.
- Download template file and follow the guide on the ASN page to fill out the required information.
- Your customer_purchase_order_id should match the Unique Order Number you used above when creating the work order.
- List the parent SKU and total number of assembled kits for the customer_sku_id and quantity. You do not need to include the individual component SKUs and quantities, as this ASN is being uploaded to receive the final, assembled inventory.
