đ What is Ship Method Mapping?
At checkout, your customers choose options like "Free Shipping" or "2-Day Delivery." These are called Rate Namesâtheyâre created by you in Shopify (or other platforms), and they show up on each order.
MasonHub doesnât see the logic behind those namesâwe just see the label. You need to tell us what MasonHub service level you want us to use when we see each Rate Name.
đĄ Example:
- âFree Shippingâ â MH Ground (5â7 business days)
- âExpress Shippingâ â MH 2-Day
- âOvernight Deliveryâ â MH Standard Overnight
This mapping allows us to automate fulfillment while ensuring your customers get the speed they expectâwithout you having to manage carrier selection manually.
đ How MasonHub Shipping Works
- You donât choose carriersâwe handle that with MasonHub Rate Shops
- You choose service levels (MH Ground, MH 2-Day, etc.).
- We rate shop across multiple carriers to find the best option based on cost, speed, and delivery location.
- Your rate card from Sales shows your costs for each service level.
â ď¸ Why It Matters
If an order comes through with a Rate Name thatâs not mapped, it canât be fulfilled because our system doesn't know how to ship it. Mapping prevents delays, order failures, and any manual intervention on your end.
đŚ What is a Rate Shop?
A rate shop is a smart shipping method that automatically compares multiple carriers and services to find the best option for your shipment based on speed, cost, and delivery destination.
At MasonHub, we use rate shops for all domestic shipping. This means that instead of locking you into one carrier, we evaluate several in real time and choose the most cost-effective service that meets the promised delivery timeline.
Youâll see our rate shops listed as service levels like MH Ground or MH 2-Dayâthese arenât specific carriers, but curated service tiers that let us optimize your shipping for cost and performance.

Each of these service levels allows MasonHub to select the best-fit carrier and method at the time of shippingâhelping you keep delivery promises without overspending.

đ How to Find All Your Shipping Rate Names (Yes, Even the Hidden Ones)
To make sure every possible rate name is mapped (including older ones or those from social marketplaces), we recommend checking two places in Shopify:
1ď¸âŁ Shipping & Delivery Settings (Where you create rate names)
This shows the rate names youâve actively set up for checkout.
To find them:
- Go to Settings â Shipping and delivery
- Click into each Shipping Zone
- Take note of every Rate Name listed (e.g., Free Shipping, Expedited, Economy, etc.)
These are the names your customers see at checkout on your Shopify storefront.
2ď¸âŁ Order History Filters (Where you might find additional rate names)
Some orders may come from external sales channels like TikTok Shop, Facebook/Instagram, or Amazon FBM. These orders enter Shopify with rate names that may not appear in your Shipping & Delivery settingsâbut they still need to be mapped.
To find them:
- Go to Orders in Shopify
- Click Filter â Add Filter â Delivery method
- Click the arrow next to "Shipping" to expand the list
- You'll now see all rate names used on any past order, including:
- TikTok Shop rates (e.g., "Standard Delivery")
- Facebook/Instagram checkout rates
- Amazon FBM rates
- Old or deactivated Shopify rates that customers still use (e.g., via saved carts or links)
â ď¸ Why both steps matter:
Even if a rate is no longer advertised, it can still be used on an orderâand if it's not mapped, that order will fail to ship. Checking both places ensures nothing slips through the cracks.
