Understanding Account-wide Order Processing Delay:
The order processing delay feature is an account-wide setting that sets orders in the OMS to the “under delay” status for a specific period (more info on order statuses here). Common use cases are to allow customers a "remorse hour" during which they can cancel or modify their orders, and also enables your team to edit orders for a set duration, commonly 15-60 minutes.
These settings are applied universally to all orders and can be configured on your account page by your Account Manager. However, if you require more granular control over order processing delays on a per-order basis, you can utilize the method outlined below.
Note - Updating an Existing Delay Window:
If you update your account-wide delay (for example, from 1 hour to 30 minutes), the new delay duration will immediately apply to any orders that are currently in the “under delay” status. This means existing delayed orders will follow the updated timing and release earlier or later based on the new configuration.
User Guide: Order Processing Delay Tags
Welcome to the User Guide for the "Order Processing Delay Tags" feature! This feature allows customers to bypass their order processing delay and set specific tags for how long they would like the order processing delay per order. Below, you'll find step-by-step instructions on how to effectively utilize this feature.
Getting Started:
- Understanding the Tags:
- Each tag corresponds to a specific delay period for order processing.
- Tags consist of a numerical value followed by the unit of time (e.g., "0mdelay" for no delay, "30mdelay" for 30 minutes delay, "2hdelay" for 2 hours delay)
- Adding Tags to Orders:
- Store owners can add appropriate tags to their orders to set the desired processing delay on the order in Shopify via a flow or other tagging method.
- Ensure that tags are added before the order syncs to MasonHub in order for the processing delay to be in effect.
Use Case Examples:
- No Delay Bypass for Priority Orders:
- To bypass order processing delay entirely, add the tag "0mdelay" to your order.
- This ensures your order will be processed immediately. Use cases for this would be to have your overnight orders drop immediately to MasonHub OMS bypassing your account wide delay for example.
- Custom Delay
- If you prefer a specific delay period, add the corresponding tag to your order.
- For example, to delay processing by 30 minutes, add the tag "30mdelay". For a 2-hour delay, use the tag "2hdelay". Use minutes if you want a granular delay use “150mdelay” instead of “2h30mdelay”
Note:
These order processing delay tags overwrite your account level order processing delays. Your account level order processing delay will still work if there is no delay tag. See below for screenshots of the tags in use.
