Overview
Each product in your catalog must have at least one totally unique SKU with a unique barcode value. The barcode is used to efficiently scan your SKU into inventory and used for accurate tracking at our facilities.
Because the SKU and barcode combination must be unique, our system will prevent you from adding the same barcode value to two SKUs.
If you attempt to create a product with a SKU or barcode that is already in use, MasonHub will reject the new SKU or reject the update to an existing SKU and send you an email notification. The update will not appear in MasonHub's OMS until you fix the duplicate or incorrect SKU or barcode.
Sign up for the SKU Catalog Report notification for automated emails reporting these failures. |
Take the following action if MasonHub fails to ingest your product due to a non-unique barcode:
- Check Your SKU Catalog Report email for the rejected SKU and error.
- Search for that barcode in your system to see which SKUs you have added it to.
- Confirm which SKU should have the barcode and which one should have it removed.
- If the rejected SKU should not have that barcode, simply update the SKU in your system with the correct barcode. If it's unique, it will sync with MasonHub's OMS when you update it.
- If there's another SKU already in MasonHub's OMS that has an incorrect SKU, reach out to MasonHub Support for next steps and timing to make the change:
- If there is no existing inventory with this barcode, MasonHub Support may be able to delete the barcode value from this SKU.
- If there is existing inventory with this barcode, MasonHub Support will need to delete the barcode value from this SKU and relabel the goods – for a fee. It's important that MasonHub Support coordinates this process with you and our Operations team to ensure the new labels are applied and the barcode value is deleted from MasonHub's systems before you add the correct barcode to your system.
