Overview
As of July 2021, MasonHub accounts can now utilize flexible routing policies to optimize orders across multiple facilities. MasonHub can receive inventory into and fulfill orders out of three physical locations: Fontana, CA, Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Contact your MasonHub Account Manager if you're interested in Multi-Facility Order Routing or would like to adjust your existing policies.
Account Settings
- Inventory Locations: The facilities from which your account receives inventory and ships orders.
- Default Shipping Location: The facility to be used in the rare case of a technical error related to order routing or receiving policies, when using multiple facilities.
- Default RMA Location: If you use a return integration, this location will be used as a default to route RMA's to a single location. If you manually upload or enter RMA's into MasonHub's OMS, you will still have the option to choose a destination based on your selected inventory locations and will not be limited to your default RMA location.
- Default Order Routing Policy: This setting is only visible if multiple Inventory Locations are selected. This policy will be automatically applied to all orders. If you manually create orders in MasonHub's OMS, you can override this default to manually route an order to a specific location. See the following section for details on each policy.
Order Routing Policies
- Destination and Inventory: This is the recommended policy for all accounts using multiple locations. This policy will primarily use the destination address to route orders to the closest facility. If that facility is out of stock, but the items are available in an alternate location, orders will be routed to the location with inventory available.
- Destination Only: This policy is only recommended for accounts with advanced forecasting capabilities. Routing the order solely based on the destination address provides more control over inventory levels at each location. If the optimal facility is out of stock, orders will be placed on backorder until inventory arrives in the suggested facility.
- Manual Routing: This policy is only available when creating orders directly in MasonHub's OMS. If you have a preferred fulfillment facility (e.g., a Wholesale order with specific trading partner location requirements), you can manually route an order to that facility. This will override any default account configurations for this particular order.
Suggested Facility vs. Assigned Facility
If your account uses multiple facilities, you will see additional data points assigned to each order:
- Suggested Facility: This is the optimal fulfillment location based on destination address.
- Assigned Facility: This is the location that fulfilled the order, and it populates only after inventory has been allocated. If you use the Destination and Inventory routing policies, this might be a different location than the Suggested Facility based on your inventory constraints.
